This notice is to inform you that Grupo GMS and its companies, Rack Lodge Data Center, Boomerang, Othos Telecommunications and Ring Call Center, is closely monitoring Hurricane Irma – a category 5 Hurricane with winds of 180 mph forecast to impact a number of Caribbean island nations and possibly the United States.
Grupo GMS is taking all necessary precautions to prepare and protect our networks and facilities in the event of hurricane related impacts and do our utmost to see that services continue uninterrupted throughout this occurrence.
We have detailed below the impact that this event could possibly have on our operations:
Rack Lodge Miami Data Center:
- The Miami Data Center will remain open to customers for as long as the building permits access.
- The Miami Data Center is subject to any Miami, Florida City, County, and building emergency protocols – please know we will be enforcing all protocols for the safety of our customers.
- Rack Lodge Miami Operations and other Emergency Preparedness Staff will be on-site 24/7 throughout the storm.
Connectivity between the US and Costa Rica:
GMS has International Data Capacity via the Submarine Cables on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, as well as via the Central American Terrestrial Network, which means that should the Hurricane affect Miami and the fiber links that take traffic to and from Central and South America, we will redirect all traffic via the Pacific.
